205 East 59th Street

There is luxury in NYC and then there are properties like 205 East 59th Street, which somehow manage to combine luxury, amenities and style with originality.

Let’s run down the basics. It’s a full service building located in the heart of Midtown East. Units have loft-like high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, with pretty amazing views. Kitchens are well-equipped, well beyond standard – as you would expect –and the fitness center and rooftop garden won’t disappoint either.

Now where does the originality come into play? Well, with a one of a kind covered private dog park off the fifth floor, this property is sure to attract some of the ‘best in show.’ In all seriousness though, the dog park is a thoughtful addition to the building, making it a standing stop for my clients with pets.

Another great aspect to this building is the that being just over 20 minutes by car to La Guardia, it’s a good option for a pied-a-terre or for anyone who travels a good deal.

Finally, 205 East 59th Street has my favorite unit in the entire city. It is, without a doubt, 205 E 59’s one-of-a-kind movie star penthouse, which rented in 2007 for $30K/month. It is, however, worth it. I can’t even nail down a favorite feature in the unit, but the wood burning fireplace, five separate outdoor spaces and roof terrace with outdoor kitchen would all definitely be contenders.
